Soft and Hard Cap on your handicap index
The increase of your handicap index may be limited based on your low index for the previous 12 months of your last score posted. It’s important to post all scores good or bad since your score posted may affect your low index of the previous 12 months. Which in turn may affect any soft or hard caps on your current index. Also see article in FORE The Magazine of SCGA in the Spring 2021 issue.
Distance Measuring Devices (DMD).
If the DMD has the capability of measuring the slope (elevation change), this feature must be turned off. If the DMD does not have the capability to turn of the slope (elevation change), then the DMD can not be used in YVMGC tournaments. Additionally, scores can not be posted for handicap purposes if a round is played when using the feature of slope (elevation change) on the DMD.
- Rule 4.3 a.(1) states in part as follows:
(1) Distance and Directional Information.
- Allowed.
- Getting information on distance or direction (such as from a distance-measuring device or compass).
- Not Allowed.
- Measuring elevation changes, or
- Interpreting distance or directional information (such as using a device to get a recommended line of play or club selection based on the location of the player’s ball).
- Allowed.
